INSTI has five technical divisions, these are namely; Geospatial & Information Systems, Electronics Division, Communication Division, Fluid Science Division and Printing & Publishing Division

Communication Division

The communication division has the mandate to research and transform research outputs into communication/ software tools, equipment and communication systems aimed at solving communication problems for national development.The vision of the division is to become a center of excellence in the development and application of communication technologies and systems for national development.

Electronics Division

The electronics division has the mandate to research and transform research outputs into electronics/software tool, equipment and electronic systems aimed at solving electronic problems for national development.The vision of the division is to become a center of excellence in the development and application of electronic technologies and systems for national development.

Fluid Science Division

The fluid science division has the mandate to research and transform research outputs into products aimed at solving relevant fluid science related problems for national development.

Geospatial & Information Science Division

The Section has a mandate to collect data for the design and construction of Thematic Maps that depict contemporary geographic knowledge on Ghana at the national, regional and district levels. The division is also responsible for providing public research and academic institutions as well as the industrial sector with resources and services designed to improve dissemination of, and access to indigenous and international Scientific & Technological Information.

Printing & Publishing Division

The printing and publishing division has the mandate to provide printing and reprographic services for the production of scientific, technical literature and other printing services and products to support the socio-economic development of the country. Its mission is to sustain a scientific press that prints scholarly literature and other related materials to support national development.
